Variety is the spice of life, and this Farm Shop and Cafe certainly proves this theory.

Dan, Carol and Andrew Phillips have diversified, finding a way of selling their own product, which are sourced from the 80 acre beef and sheep farm, which is situated north of Cardiff.

The family-run shop and cafe are going from strength to strength since the opening in 2006 selling home and locally produced meat, fruit and vegetables, as well as freshly cooked cakes and preserves. It is now open six days a week, with customers enjoying their selection of their home-grown healthy food items. And what they are unable to produce themselves, the family always try and source from neighbouring farmers and producers.

The winning lemon drizzle cake, made on site, is baked everyday using the farm’s own eggs, fresh lemons and no additives or preservatives. This obviously is the key to the customer’s heart, and stomachs - fresh, quality goods at a reasonable cost, which also help to maintain the area’s rural environment.

Andy and Carol Phillips, Directors, said: “As a local, family run business, we pride ourselves in sourcing quality, local, Welsh produce. Our lemon drizzle cakes, amongst many others, are freshly baked every day by our dedicated and passionate team of pastry chefs.
