South Caernarfon Creameries

BAKES AND CONFECTIONARY – LARGE PRODUCER
GOLD – Pot au Chocolat / Pot au Citron

Two heads are better than one...and with the co-operation of 170 farmers, a high-quality winning product is certainly expected.

Recognised many times at the True Taste of Wales awards, South Caernarfon Creameries has over 70 years experience, and still exists at its original site in Chwilog, on the Lleyn Peninsula. The milk is collected using a fleet of tankers who visit farms seven days a week, 52 weeks a year, processing 112 million litres of milk each year for their award-winning dairy and cheese range.

The milk has been recognised as consistently of higher quality than the national average; this is obviously a strong start for their new products – the Pot au Chocolat and the Pot au Citron. The Chocolate Pot is made from double cream, gently cooked with sugar and oodles of the finest quality dark Belgian chocolate to create a creamy textured pudding with an intense chocolate flavour. The new Lemon Possett dessert has a refreshing, tangy taste thanks to the delicious mix of rich double cream, sugar and sun-ripened Spanish lemon juice.

Lynne King, Commercial Director, said: “South Caernarfon Creameries is delighted to be an award winner this year. As a farmer’s co-operative, our aim is to add value to the milk that out farmer members supply to the creamery.

“We do this by making high quality Welsh dairy products and we are delighted to get this recognition by independent judges at the True Taste of Wales Awards”.
